Back in Paradise!

"Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you want to be." ~Unknown

We are back in our paradise! We got into town this afternoon and after dinner I couldn't resist running out to the lighthouse just for a short time before dark.  I didn't expect to find lots of shells, I just needed to walk along the beach and take in some Gulf air.  I know you know the feeling!! The Gulf was very rough, and I walked toward the point at the lighthouse to the other side of the pier just taking in everything that I could, it was windy, but very comfortable!!

This guy was holding his own pretty well against the surf....I call him Devil Crab since his eyes were catching the setting sun, making them glow! He was certainly ready for a fight.

I walked past the fishing pier and saw these guys all hanging around waiting for a chance of getting some fish. They look like twins don't they?

This heron was waiting for his opportunity to grab some bait from someone, isn't he amazing? I believe he is a Reddish Egret, they are becoming rare in the US.
The sun started going down pretty quickly so I turned around and headed back toward the other side of the lighthouse, and managed to catch some pretty shots as the sun was setting... The fishing pier...
...and this awesome Osprey nest...
As I rounded the point, I found this area of calm water and tidal pools that were protected by a sand bar! Boy I wish I had gone this way first! It was quickly getting darker but I just had to wander as long as I could.

I saw lots of live sand dollars...

and Star fish....or Sea Stars
This will definitely be a place to visit again when it is lighter and I have more time. The sun went down much too quickly and I made my way back to the car but couldn't resist one more shot of the lighthouse as it was sending it's light across the gulf...

Doesn't it just make you saw... AHHHHHHHHHHHHH?

I didn't pick up a lot, but got a few minis, I will post pics tomorrow.

    1. We have never had any luck at Blind Pass, tho' I realize it's all about timing! We'll see how it goes this week, low tides are in the middle of the night so we'll just figure it all out! That's part of the fun, right? I'll keep you posted, gotta do some painting this week here....you and Chablis busy? :D
