Another Beautiful Day!!

"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea."
~e.e. cummings

We finally got up before the sun today!! We got out just as it got light enough to see.  Low tide was at 6:03 am so we were right on time...(we like to be out there about an hour before low tide, but that would require flashlights!!  The shelling was better than yesterday, it's still not as good as usual this time of year but I'm not complaining!  We did the works this morning, tidal pools, sand bars, and even did a little digging in the ledge of the tidal pools.  Every option gave a few so it worked well.  We came back in just before 9:00 so we gave it a good effort!!

We had our pastries from Jerry's, I had an apple fritter and Hubby had his favorite honey bun!! We sat out on the Lanai looking over the gulf and eating our favorite breakfast!! It just doesn't get any better than this!!

Here is the grove which is just the other side of the parking lot at Ocean's Reach, next to the pond...they have got 3 gas grills so you can have your own little cookout!!

This is the shell cleaning station, they just put this in a couple of years ago, and they did a great job with it!  They even have a screen area where you can put your shells to dry after rinsing them out in the sink!

This guy was tucked up under the overhang over the cars...I would guess his wingspan is at least 5 inches!!

As I said before, the shelling was better, but keep in mind this is 2 days worth...the first group was very slim!! But it's getting better!

If I have to pick a favorite, I believe this is it for me....about a 3" long Horse conch!!
My Dad's favorite....sharks eyes!  Also a pretty King's crown and some lightning whelks that Hubby found
My favorite.... Horse conchs and some turbans
Lace Murex...I love it when they have the tiny pink tip!
A Pretty little Pear Whelk...I think that is Jess' new favorite....and of course Brad's favorite....Nutmegs!!

We sat out and watched the sunset again today...it was much less exciting, no shark today..... that I could see anyway!!  Once again some more sunset pictures, this time with no clouds!!  There is another little video for your relaxation pleasure....for you Kim and Tracy, and anyone else that needs to get away for just a minute, crank up the sound and enjoy some peace and quiet at the beach!!

Sneak peak of tomorrow's post...the shelling was MUCH better...
