Short and Sweet Post

This will be a fairly short post as the shelling yesterday wasn't as good as it has been. It got very windy, and as you know it's a little difficult to shell in the waves! The pickins' were pretty slim, but we always manage to find some treasures, alive or not!!

I couldn't resist this Juvenile Fighting conch...loved the color, kind of a lemon sherbet and the very sharp points!
Cheri found one of the smallest pairs of Sunray Venus I have EVER seen! How cute are these little guys?
Do you remember Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants?  He was at the beach today!! We saw him!!
It's actually a live Thorny Starfish!
Cheri found another Brittle Star, this one was on dry land and she gently returned him to the Gulf and he seemed to be glad we did!
I found another pair of Spiny Jewel Boxes...still can't resist these guys!
Another beautiful Sunrise....

The wind started picking up shortly after this and the beach got pretty rough, I found a few more coquina pairs and that was about it...except for this guy! He was partially buried, only a little of his 'tail' and his side showing...I should have taken his picture to show you, but got to excited and dug this beauty out of the sand! A Beautiful True Tulip!! Look at that color! He's perfect!!
We walked by a Snowy Plover nesting site and saw these adorable little guys chatting on the sand...
They nest on the sand, and thankfully Sanibel is good about roping off the area to help them survive...

I am not positive, but I believe the 2 in the center and front of this picture are Snowy Plover, and the one in the back is a Sanderling.
I will be at Shellcrafters tomorrow, but stay tuned, maybe I'll have some cool things to post from there...if not, I'll be back on the beach on Tuesday...and you can come too!!!

..Stay Tuned!
