I Took a Playday!

Keep doing some kind of work, that the devil may always find you employed.  ~St. Jerome

I have so much 'stuff' to do, I decided to do none of it and have a 'playday'.  Just play with shells and try to be creative.  I have been thinking about this area between our curtains at our house in Ft. Myers, and it is the first area you see when you come into the house....so what to do? I felt like it needed to say something, you know, something about us, who we are.... It needs to say it quietly though, it is a fairly small area.  I finally decided to do the letter 'B' for our last name, and of course it had to have some shells on it....I really had to think about this a lot while I was working on it because the 'creative juices' just weren't with me so much today.

I kept setting shells on it, pulling them off and trying something else....Don't want it to be covered with huge shells, you want to recognize it as a 'B' when you see it...I would bring in one box of shells, then another, then another until I was surrounded!

Finally, I finished!

I even added some of the seaglass I got from here in VA on my last trip....it was teal and would blend in with our Florida house decor!! What do you think?? I think I am happy with it, been looking at it so long I will have to get away from it for a while to decide! I also need to 'install' it and see how it looks! Hmmm...maybe I will have to 'run down' to our place in Ft. Myers and check it out... :D

I also have been hiding in my car to catch a good picture of our hummingbirds...they just fascinate me! So tiny and so busy.  We have at least 3, a male, female, and another one that won't set on the feeder so I can't tell what he is, but he chirps! This feeder is right outside my window but I can only get silhouettes, but since I've been hiding in my car I am finally getting some pretty good pics, with the light. This is a male ruby throated hummingbird....same bird, a few seconds apart, notice that with just a slight change of his head how the ruby shows!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
