We are back in Ft. Myers and went out shelling this morning for the ultra low tide, and got there at around 6:00....still dark, but we had lights.....no pants or shoes, but lights! I told myself I should wear shoes and long pants, because 52 degrees is too cold for shorts, and one of those cool breezy fishing shirts!! I did grab a sweatshirt at the last minute! There was a slight breeze blowing when we got to the beach....even the sand was cool!!
We were about 30 minutes past the low tide, but it was still very low! There were several of us die hards out there with our lights, looking for those special treasures! Hubby overheard someone who saw people out there at 4 am.....not me, not yet anyway! :)
It was a beautiful morning, and I wouldn't trade it for the world though, so I am NOT complaining!!
...with little surprises hiding in them!! :)

Lucky you to be back in paradise. Can't wait to see what goodies you find this week.
ReplyDeleteI know, I feel a little guilty complaining of 'cold' at 52 degrees with you guys living up there around Chicago!! But I have grown to hate the cold....dress in layers all winter long.....indoors and out!! I hope to find lots of goodies! Stay tuned!

Cheri - 52 is *perfect* weather for shelling in shorts! I wear shorts all year! Love your shell finds and can't wait to see what else you find! Have fun!

DeleteVery nice shells. That winged oyster is a real gem. It was cold for Florida. I had on my rubber boots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Capt. Brian....our neighbor here in Ft. Myers is a snowbird from NC and says that to him 52 is freezing....I'm starting to agree with him!! :)
