Greetings from Warm(?) Florida!

I'm so stubborn! You would think I would learn after 50 something years to listen to reason! Maybe tomorrow...definitely tomorrow!

We are back in Ft. Myers and went out shelling this morning for the ultra low tide, and got there at around 6:00....still dark, but we had lights.....no pants or shoes, but lights! I told myself I should wear shoes and long pants, because 52 degrees is too cold for shorts, and one of those cool breezy fishing shirts!! I did grab a sweatshirt at the last minute! There was a slight breeze blowing when we got to the beach....even the sand was cool!!
We were about 30 minutes past the low tide, but it was still very low! There were several of us die hards out there with our lights, looking for those special treasures! Hubby overheard someone who saw people out there at 4 am.....not me, not yet anyway! :)

It was a beautiful morning, and I wouldn't trade it for the world though, so I am NOT complaining!!

The low tides are just before sun-up so we will be hitting the beach early all this week.  There were shell piles galore...

...with little surprises hiding in them!! :)
Look closely!
Snowy plover!
I ended up with lots of minis (my favorite).....tomorrow I will bring a bag to collect groups from these shell piles for more crafting.....and pants and shoes!!!!
All our finds
My finds
Hubby's

Mini Winged oysters!!
Horse conchs!
Limpets, ceiths, dog whelk, and augers...all tiny!

Lace murex!
Big and little and tiny fighting conchs!
I'm working on a new project at our Florida house, probably won't finish this trip...but stay tuned!!

::Hugs::

    1. I know, I feel a little guilty complaining of 'cold' at 52 degrees with you guys living up there around Chicago!! But I have grown to hate the cold....dress in layers all winter long.....indoors and out!! I hope to find lots of goodies! Stay tuned!

  4. Very nice shells. That winged oyster is a real gem. It was cold for Florida. I had on my rubber boots.
